I think this is an interesting suggestion with lots of potential. Increasing dataset sizes and searchability is indeed a major concern. However, it looks like all the authors are at academic institutions so it’s unclear to me how much buy-in there is from instrument manufacturers. Without their commitment to implementing mzPeak (or at least to enabling file conversion and export), this new format will not be successful.
