This paper investigates documented cases from 2015 to 2025 in which academic institutions retained faculty members despite confirmed allegations of misconduct, including sexual harassment, research fraud, and workplace abuse. Through verified reports from court records, journalism, and university investigations across the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, and beyond, we examine how institutional priorities—such as prestige, funding, and reputation—contribute to inadequate sanctions, secrecy, and the silencing of victims. By analyzing detailed case studies and identifying recurring patterns of institutional protection, this research reveals systemic ethical governance failures in academia. The findings call for stronger independent oversight, transparency reforms, and a cultural shift to ensure accountability in higher education.Academic Misconduct
