The role of Psychology has increasingly expanded beyond the traditional clinical approach, becoming more present in various sectors. Its integration with economic science marks a new era of management possibilities within institutions, especially governmental ones. Recognizing this role and utilizing the best means to harness the potential of the field is essential for the optimization of public sector policies, potentially bringing large-scale benefits to the nation. In this context, the present work aims to promote Economic Psychology as a managerial tool to enhance the effectiveness of the implementation process of Public Policies in Brazil. This is achieved through the development of an action plan based on key concepts of Behavioral Economics, such as heuristics, cognitive biases, and the acclaimed nudge—a stimulus that has been widely explored in government systems worldwide. To this end, the research methodology employed exploratory analysis using recent sources from national and international scientific studies, as well as support documents produced by the Government Innovation Laboratory (GNova). Additionally, an experimental simulation was conducted using the digital platform SimplesMente. The results obtained demonstrated a stronger alignment with the intended policy design when behavioral interventions were applied to the executing agents, indicating that implementation efficiency increases with direct behavioral interventions in policy implementers. Furthermore, it was possible to propose an action plan model incorporating nudges into the implementation phase of the Multi-Year Plan (Plano Plurianual). Through this proposal, the study offers a deeper understanding of decision-making methods within the public sector and highlights how Economic/Behavioral Psychology can serve as a strategic tool to enhance governmental management through the proposed action plan.
