Introduction: Acute bronchiolitis is the most common cause of paediatric emergency department visits, with significant consequences for the child and considerable emotional stress for parents. Respiratory physiotherapy provided by a Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist not only improves the child's clinical condition but also offers a valuable opportunity to educate and empower parents. However, there is considerable heterogeneity and variability in the way these interventions are described and investigated in the literature. Objetive: To map the interventions of the Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist directed at children with acute bronchiolitis and their parents. Methods: Scoping review protocol based on the principles recommended by the Joanna Briggs Institute. A literature search will be conducted in the MEDLINE (via PubMed), CINAHL (via EBSCO), PEDro, Scopus, and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews databases. Grey literature sources, including DART-Europe and the Portuguese Open Access Scientific Repositories (RCAAP), will also be searched. Results: Identifying the scientific evidence on this topic will enhance the understanding of the Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist's role in the management of children with acute bronchiolitis, with particular emphasis on parental empowerment, thereby contributing to the advancement of specialised clinical practice.
