This article analyzes the experiences of the Cinema and Education Program of the municipal school network of Campinas, São Paulo, with an emphasis on the categories created for the Kino/Student Film Showcases and on school-based cinematographic practices as vectors of anti-racist and decolonial education. Drawing on a dialogue between Gilles Deleuze, Nego Bispo, and Tavia Nyong’o, among other authors, concepts such as confluence, transfluence, and afrofabulation are mobilized to understand the movement-images produced in schools. Through an immanent analysis of film curation, literature review, and study of the kino-categories of the showcases, the article argues that these experiences constitute emancipatory pedagogical practices and a reinvention of sensibilities and affections in school life. However, they still face challenges and contradictions in affirming the emergence of Black school cinemas yet to come.
