Open Research Community of Tanzania

The Open Research Community of Tanzania (ORCT) is a network of researchers, students and knowledge advocates working to advance open science practices in Tanzania.

The community promotes principles of open science including open access publishing, open peer review, transparent data sharing and inclusive research practices among Tanzanian and African researchers.

Drawing on ties to global initiatives including eLife, PREreview and INASP, the community offers training and mentorship to early career researchers on open publishing and peer review, while also supporting institutional change through open science policy development at universities. Its goal is to make African research more visible, more accessible and better connected to global open science conversations.
