This paper presents an empirical study aimed at testing the Checkpoint (CP), which acts as a built-in mechanism of the Constant Subconscious (CSC), ensuring the masking of the true functional state of the organism from cognitive consciousness. The aim of the study was to show that the subjective feeling of improved mood or any other subjective assessment may not only not correspond to, but also directly contradict the actual subconscious state when the CSC uses the CP to block existentially dangerous meanings. The experiment used musical compositions with a positive sound and hidden negative content. The data obtained demonstrate a statistically significant decrease in positive affect on the PANAS with simultaneous subjective reports of improved or maintained mood, which is interpreted as a direct empirical manifestation of the work of the CP as a CSC mechanism.
