Earworms, also known as Stuck Song Syndrome and Involuntary Musical Imagery (INMI), the phenomenon of having a catchy tune involuntarily replaying in one’s mind, represent a compelling aspect of human cognition. This article investigates the neurological mechanisms behind earworms, utilizing recent studies to uncover the brain processes and behavioral aspects involved. The research aims to identify why specific tunes become stuck in our heads, how various stimuli contribute to this phenomenon, and insights into the processes of auditory perception and memory. Ultimately, aims to contribute to an understanding of how earworms occur and provide potential strategies for managing it.
