This article discusses insensitivity as a prevalent condition in contemporary society, rooted in the demand for abstraction that characterizes Western philosophical tradition, promoting the sublimation of the body and the "loss of world" – which, as described by Gumbrecht, is not just a metaphor but a reality manifested in environmental degradation and the consequences of ecological catastrophe. To analyze this disembodiment, which has affected not only reason but also sensitivity, resulting in weakened or "fragmented" sensibility, the reflections of A. Cavarero, J. Butler, A. Athanasiou, and J. Rancière are presented.
