Introduction
The introduction begins abruptly. It seems that some information is omitted before “however”.
Instead of overstated, I would propose “immeasurable”, and the first part of the sentence to be like “The importance of urban well-being is immeasurable”.
Perhaps communal grounds of apartment buildings, green roofs and campus parks are more relevant to the first category (public green spaces).
One-digit numbers should be spelled out.
Through the text, it is used a mixed citation system which is not correct according to the scientific standards. Specifically, it includes authors with year in APA-style format and numbered citation in IEEE. These two styles are not interchangeable. You must choose one citation style throughout the text.
Although green open spaces and their importance are explained thoroughly giving a deep understanding to the reader, GIS are not adequately analyzed. Thus, it is necessary to add further information and relevant studies from other researchers to give a broad perspective about the previous efforts done in this scientific area, the capabilities and limitations and hence to smoothly transit to the objective of this study.
Research Zone
In the first line of the paragraph the word “confidently” is strange and does not fit with the context. Therefore, it is better to remove it, as without it the meaning remains clear.
The data presented is somewhat old.
Materials and Methods
For better documentation and reproducibility purposes, GIS software and version, as well as conversion tools should be provided.
Euclidean and network distance analysis methods should be explained on what are and how were applied.
In the sentence “Furthermore, the population and GOS ratio have been analysed for comparison with other urban areas”, please mention that these areas are displayed in table 2.
The phrase “Apart from this”, right below the figure 4, is redundant.
Literature review should not be placed in this section, but in the introduction.
It is more scientific to use units of measurement (m, instead of writing meters).
Could you please specify the distance value that has been finally selected?
The distance of 5000 m, given the extreme weather conditions during the summer, is seem to be very high. Consider another, probably around the average of 1000 and 5000 m.
Figure 6b shows 300 m distance.
Results and Discussion
In figure 8, axis titles are needed.
The abbreviation GOS is used in the whole text for green open spaces, not General Overviews. Also, further information is needed about what are general overviews.
The author declares that they have no competing interests.
