Krause et al. (2018) argue that the presence of female signatories in peace agreements contributes to more durable peace. This study evaluates the reproducibility of their findings and critically examines the strengths and limitations of the underlying analysis. While only minor discrepancies were identified, the principal results are reproducible, and the data generally meet the key assumptions of the statistical models used. Nevertheless, the analysis reveals several limitations, including low statistical power and an imprecise specification of both theoretical and empirical estimands. These issues complicate the interpretation of the observed association between female signatories and peace durability, raising concerns about the causal inferences made by the original study. Additional empirical research is necessary to clarify the role of women's participation in peace processes.
