To investigate low-carbon design strategies for Hi-tech Park, the impact of solar energy utilization potential and heat island effect on energy consumption of buildings is taken as the entry point for low-carbon design of science park. Through an analysis of the spatial characteristics of 20 block-style hi-tech parks in the Yangtze River Delta region of China, two types of idealized park models comprising a total of 18 variations are established. The simulation process involved six key shape parameters to describe the specific shape of the park quantitatively. The Ladybug Tools, Radiance, and URBANopt software are used to simulate the potential for photovoltaic power generation and the energy consumption of the park complex. Net Energy Use Intensity (NEUI) and Potential Renewable Energy Utilization Rate (PURRE) are selected as the final evaluation indexes to represent the integrated energy performance of the park. By comparing the energy performance of the 18 idealized models, it is found that the park buildings with circular spatial structure and courtyard form layout have the lowest NEUI. Finally, based on the analysis results, four major low-carbon design strategies are proposed: high-density development, courtyard layout, supporting function centralized layout, and carbon sink enhancement.

You can write a PREreview of Study on Low-carbon Design Strategy of Hi-tech Park Based on Solar Energy Utilization Potential and Heat Island Effects. A PREreview is a review of a preprint and can vary from a few sentences to a lengthy report, similar to a journal-organized peer-review report.
