The population growth of elderly people has increased in Brazil and worldwide, and the need for interventions to protect the elderly is necessary, especially with the increase in patrimonial and psychological violence against the elderly. This article aims to identify what is known in the scientific literature about patrimonial and psychological violence against the elderly. A scoping review was carried out using three databases: PubMed, Scielo, ScienceDirect; and mapping in the gray literature: Google Scholar and the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), with the descriptors and Boolean operators: “Elderly Person” AND “Psychological Violence” AND “Property Violence” OR “Financial Violence”. A total of 225 works were found, of which 09 were excluded because they were duplicates and 05 were excluded because they were not freely accessible. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 28 articles were included, of which 7 (seven) were national publications and 21 (twenty-one) were international. Three key themes were identified: health conditions of the aggressor and the elderly person in situations of violence, financial and psychological violence against the elderly person, and intimate partner violence against the elderly person. It was concluded that psychological and patrimonial violence are associated with the health of the elderly person and also of the aggressor, with psychological violence being the most common, especially in the family context. It was also possible to verify that psychological and patrimonial violence are interconnected in cases of incidence of violence, including socioeconomic, educational and cultural issues.
