This article analyzes the cultural territories of Mato Grosso from historical, social, and economic perspectives, exploring indigenous manifestations, cultural hybridization, and the transformations triggered by state policies such as the “March to the West.” The research identifies the impacts of modernization and capitalism on traditional and Indigenous communities, highlighting the commodification of culture and the resulting social conflicts. Through an interdisciplinary approach, grounded in authors such as Haesbaert, Canclini, and Harvey, the study reflects on contemporary challenges faced by these territories, including globalization, social inequality, and the preservation of cultural identity. It concludes by advocating for inclusive public policies that promote sustainability, cultural diversity, and social justice in the state.
